KNOXVILLE (AP) - Two recognizable buildings on the University of Tennessee campus are now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Ayres Hall is a four-story, brick and limestone building that was completed in 1921. The building underwent a $23 million renovation in 2008 and reopened in 2010 with some restored features of the original design including a plaza on the north side of the building and clock faces on the bell tower.

The other building included in the registry is the Tyson House, a three-story brick building that houses the development and alumni affairs offices. The building was originally built in 1895 as a home for Knoxville businessman James Meek. It was remodeled in the early 1900s by local architect George Barber.
