UT forestry field day scheduled for September in Oak Ridge

OAK RIDGE (AP) - University of Tennessee agriculture specialists will have a seminar next month on forest management.

The Woods and Wildlife Field Day will be at the research and education center and the arboretum in Oak Ridge. It is designed for landowners who have 10 or more acres of forested property. Topics include wildlife management, timber management and best management practices for production and harvesting.

Admission is free and includes lunch, but registration is required. The event begins at 8 a.m. EDT on Sept. 22. Registration closes Sept. 8.

The aim of the event is to equip landowners to make decisions that will balance their goals related to fiscal management of their property as well as wildlife and forest sustainability.
