KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The board of community tourism promotion agency Visit Knoxville approved an employment agreement on Tuesday for CEO Kim Bumpas.
Bumpas, who was named president and CEO in July, earns an annual base salary of $125,000, according to the agreement.
Visit Knoxville was formerly the Knoxville Tourism and Sports Corp. with Gloria Ray as CEO. Ray retired in February after controversy over her compensation package, which exceeded $400,000.
Bumpas' agreement doesn't include a bonus.
The board also approved the Visit Knoxville bylaws Tuesday, which reduce the number of its members from 23 to 11.
The tourism marketing contract for the city and county is being bid out. Visit Knoxville is one of seven organizations that applied. The decision is expected in the next six to eight weeks.
