SEVIERVILLE (WATE) - Police in Bristol, Virginia arrested a man Tuesday who's suspected of robbing a Kroger pharmacy in Sevierville on August 19.

The suspect is identified as Robert A. Payne, 38.

The robber went in the Kroger store on Highway 66 that night and gave a pharmacy technician a note demanding prescription pain medication. He was reportedly holding a box cutter at the time.

The robber was given an undisclosed amount of pills and left on foot.

Police say they identified Payne as the suspect through store security video and other evidence left at the scene.

He's charged with aggravated robbery in Sevierville. The Bristol Police Department also reportedly has at least one outstanding warrant for Payne.

Police have asked for Payne to be extradited to Sevierville.
