CORBIN, Ky. (AP) - Police have arrested a Richmond man who led them on a 70-mile-long chase down Interstate 75 that ended at Corbin.

WKYT-TV in Lexington reported 61 year-old B.J. Starlight was stopped after police deployed spike strips to flatten tires of the van that was stolen in the Richmond area. A trooper bumped the vehicle, sending it off the road.

Kentucky State Police Trooper Delzie Kelly said the chase down Interstate 75 reached speeds of 100 miles per hour. As many as a dozen police officers joined in the pursuit Thursday.

Kelly said Starlight and everyone involved in the chase was lucky that there were no deaths or injuries.

Starlight was held Friday at the Whitley County Detention Center, which does not post information about inmates' attorneys.
