MORRISTOWN (WATE) - Officials say the body of a man that washed up Saturday in Cherokee Lake has been identified.

He was Chester Eugene Church, 49, of Virginia.

A boater discovered Church's body washed up on an island in the Hamblen County portion of the lake.

Church's body was decomposed to the point that investigators could not determine if he had any wounds.

An autopsy will be performed, but the death is not expected to involve foul play.
