CROSSVILLE (WATE) - A Crossville man was killed Tuesday afternoon when his car struck two tractor-trailers on Interstate 40.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol said Ricky L. Davis, 54, was driving a car eastbound on Interstate 40 in Cumberland County when it hit a tractor-trailer. The car spun around, went backward across the median and hit another tractor-trailer.
Davis was thrown out of his car and killed, according to the highway patrol report. His car came to a stop in the westbound lanes of I-40. His passenger, Derrick R. Davis, 15, was injured.
One tractor-trailer stopped in the emergency lanes on the eastbound side of the interstate and the other stopped in the median. Those two drivers were also injured.
The report said Davis wasn't wearing his seat belt.
