HOUMA, La. (WATE) - Communities outside New Orleans continue dealing with damage from Isaac.
The eye of the storm passed over Houma, Louisiana on Wednesday. During that time, the city was in the calmest part of the storm.
There was plenty of wind and rain blowing sideways, but it was nothing compared to the rest of the state.
Most of the damage in Houma came from Tuesday night's wind.
Driving around town, 6 News found a lot of debris, along with downed signs and power lines.
As of Wednesday morning, about 30,000 people in the area were without power. However, officials say there was no substantial flooding in the city.
Most businesses remain closed as rain and wind continue to pound the area.
Utility crews took advantage of the lull in the storm to repair some power lines.
