MARYVILLE (WATE) - A convicted sex offender from Florida was taken into custody Thursday morning in Maryville.
Todd Edward Aldridge, 50, was wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service in Gainesville, Florida for failing to register as a sex offender.
Aldridge is accused of failing to register when he moved to northern Florida from Utah sometime between October 2011 and July of this year.
He was originally convicted in December 1999 in Michigan of criminal sexual conduct when he tried to have sexual contact with his then 18-year-old daughter.
Since then, the Marshals Service said Aldridge has a history of failing to register.
In May 2003, he was arrested in Michigan for failing to register and after moving to Utah, he's accused of failing to register there in October 2011.
The Marshals Service received information late Wednesday afternoon that Aldridge had moved to Alcoa.
