NASHVILLE (AP) - Nashville police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a teenage boy and his mother and grandmother.
According to WKRN-TV, the incident occurred around 3 a.m. Sunday in the suburb of Bellevue.
Police believe a neighbor who has been hospitalized with self-inflicted stab wounds is responsible for the deaths. The man, who has not been identified, was in critical condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Police believe the suspect may be mentally unstable. He reportedly asked officers to kill him when they found him.
Police said a 9-year-old witnessed the crime and was able to get away and tell neighbors to call authorities.
