Two South Knoxville men arrested after one overdoses on drugs

KNOXVILLLE (WATE) - Two Knoxville men were arrested Monday after one of them was treated for a possible drug overdose.

Knoxville police say officers and emergency responders were called to Centeroak Drive in South Knoxville where David J.F. Johnson, 30, had apparently accidentally overdosed on an unknown drug.

He was transported to the hospital and then arrested after he was released. David Devolsen Johnson, 62, was also arrested.

During their investigation into the overdose, officers found evidence of drug activity in the home.

After obtaining a search warrant they found marijuana and suspected hallucinogenic mushrooms growing in the home.

Four ounces of processed marijuana, two bags of processed mushrooms were confiscated.

A large amount of an unknown powder was also found, which was sent to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation crime lab for analysis.

The two men are charged with manufacturing marijuana and a Schedule I controlled substance.

David D. Johnson is also being held for violating his probation.

David J.F. Johnson is also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police say more charges could be filed after TBI concludes its analysis of items found in the home.
