KNOXVILLE (WATE) - An autopsy found that a Knox County jail inmate died in June of an enlarged heart and an overdose of methadone.

Warren Emery Wilson, 42, of Powell, entered the detention facility on Maloneyville Road about 5:50 a.m. on June 15 on a charge of public intoxication.

A report says an officer doing a cell check found Wilson, 42, unresponsive the next day at 12:25 a.m.

The officer said after he couldn't wake Wilson, he started CPR and other lifesaving procedures.

Wilson was taken to St. Mary's/Tennova MedicalCenter and pronounced dead at 1:25 a.m.

The sheriff's office launched an investigation and an investigator with the Regional Forensic Center asked for Wilson's body to be sent there for an examination.

Wilson's death is listed as accidental and the investigation of his death is closed, according to sheriff's office spokeswoman Hillary Coward.
