Only 1 motorist tries to avoid blood alcohol test Labor Day weekend

NASHVILLE (AP) - The Tennessee Highway Patrol found only one driver who tried to refuse a blood alcohol test during the holiday weekend.

Troopers used the new "No Refusal" statute to get a court order for obtaining a sample from that motorist in Sullivan County.

The DUI crackdown was carried out over the Labor Day weekend in 16 counties statewide.

Rutherford County had the most DUI arrests with 21.

Chester and Weakley counties had no DUI arrests.
