Knox County reschedules mosquito spraying for 3 areas

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Due to mechanical problems on a spray truck, the health department rescheduled mosquito spraying in three areas of South Knox County.

Spraying for the South Knoxville, Island Home and Vestal areas is now set for Sunday, Sept. 9, from 9:00 p.m. to midnight, weather permitting. It was originally planned for Thursday night.

Signs will be posted in the areas to alert residents,who are asked to stay inside during spraying and to keep pets inside or in the back yard.

Follow up spraying will be done two weeks following, and a notice will be sent out then.

South Knox areas include:

Island Home

Spence Place, Estelle Circle, Island Home Boulevard, Maplewood Drive, Hillsboro Heights, Fisher Place, Watson Place and Willis Place

Vestal

Volena Place, Mayfield Avenue, Ogle Avenue, Martin Mill Pike from Maryville Pike to McNabb Avenue, Higgins Avenue, Keebler Avenue to Tomlinson Street, Tomlinson Street, W. Moody Avenue, Chappell Road, Flennwood Way, Barrar Avenue including Mary Vestal Park

South Knox County

Echodale Lane, Wise Hill Road, Stone Road, Stoneoak Lane and Magazine Road from Stone Road to Martin Mill Pike; Royal Heights Drive, Judith Drive, Grandin Drive, Larry Drive, Beachwood Drive, Liveoak Drive, West Red Bud Road, Sarvis Drive South West and Maple Loop Road from Sarvis Drive to West Red Bud Road
