Knox grand jury hands down slew of drug charges

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Knox County grand jury handed down several drug charges relating to marijuana and cocaine.

Twenty-six people were charged in three different indictments issued on August 28. They are accused of multiple drug-related crimes, including conspiracy to deliver marijuana and cocaine, delivery of marijuana and cocaine, and possession of a firearm during a felony.

The indictments stem from an investigation into the delivery of 70 pounds of marijuana and 300 grams of cocaine. The group faces a total of 24 charges.

According to the indictment, some of the illegal drug activity allegedly took place near school zones.
