Posted: Updated:

ROGERSVILLE (WATE) - Election officials in Hawkins County say a liquor by the drink referendum won't be on the November ballot.

Of the 931 valid signatures needed, only 862 met the criteria to be counted. The referendum fell short by 69 signatures.

Meanwhile petitions for liquor by the drink and package stores were certified in Rogersville.

The towns of Mount Carmel and Church Hill will hold votes on liquor by the drink.
