KNOXVILLE (WATE) - An accident involving four vehicles ended with a car hitting a restaurant on the Cumberland Avenue Strip.
Officers responded to the incident around 5 p.m. at the Sunspot restaurant located on the 1900 block of Cumberland Avenue, according to Knoxville Police.
A man driving a Mercury Sable pulled out from the Tin Roof parking lot and attempted to turn left onto the street. The driver failed to yield to a woman driving a Nissan Maxima eastbound on Cumberland Avenue. The two cars collided.
After the first collision, the Sable then struck a woman driving her Honda Civic westbound. After the Sable glanced off the Civic, it struck a Hyundai driven by a man going westbound.
The Sable then traveled onto the sidewalk and hit the Sunspot, causing structural damages to the building and damaging a bicycle that was secured on the sidewalk.
No one was inured or requested medical treatment.
The driver of the Sable was cited for failure to yield.
