KNOXVILLE (WATE) - An annual tour in downtown Knoxville in October will feature nine furnished homes.

The City People Home Tour includes urban lofts, condos and town homes. Some are newly constructed. Others are restored historic buildings.

James White Fort will also be featured as Knoxville's first downtown home.

The tour is from 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 14. Advanced tickets sales are $10, available at Bliss Home on Market Square and Kingston Pike. Tickets are also for sale online through October 13 at midnight on the City People website.

Tickets are $15 the day of the tour and will be sold at the East Tennessee Community Design Center, 500 S. Gay Street.

Chariots of Hire will run a shuttle covering the tour route.

The home tour proceeds are reinvested into the community through grants that fund such downtown causes as Shakespeare on the Square, the James White Fort, the Market Square Farmers Market and Dogwood Arts Market Art Fair.

City People is a non-profit 501(c)(3) membership made up of residents, business people, elected officials, preservationists, activists and artists who address issues concerning Knoxville's center city.
