KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Knoxville woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges that she used fraud to get disability payments from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Social Security Administration.
Martha Ann Kaczmarczyk, 62, entered her plea in federal court in Knoxville.
The U.S. Attorney's Office said Kaczmarczyk helped her husband, Charles, get disability payments based on a fake claim of combat-related Posttraumatic Stress Disorder.
She also defrauded the Social Security Administration by claiming she was disabled due to a back injury.
Kaczmarczyk is scheduled to be sentenced on January 16, 2013. She faces a maximum of 10 years in prison, along with forfeiture and restitution.
Charles Kaczmarczyk previously pleaded guilty, and he'll be sentenced on December 12.
