Tennessee couple dies in Alabama plane crash

CULLMAN, Ala. (AP) - A Tennessee dentist and his wife died in the crash of a single-engine plane in north Alabama.

Dr. Gary Cohen's office in Hendersonville confirmed Tuesday that he and his wife Nancy were victims of the crash Monday in Cullman County. They were traveling from Destin, Fla., to the Sumner County Regional Airport in Gallatin, Tenn., when they reported problems shortly before the crash.

The plane went down less than a mile from Smith Lake.

Cullman County Sheriff Mike Rainey said that the bodies were sent to a forensic lab in Huntsville for autopsies.
