New Block Grants announced for 4 local communities


OLIVER SPRINGS (WATE) - Governor Bill Haslam announces Block Grants for infrastructure improvements in four local communities.

The governor was in Oliver Springs making the announcement Tuesday afternoon.

Oliver Springs is getting half-a-million dollars for improvements to its water system.

The same amount will go to Lenoir City for its sewer system.

A Cocke County water line extension will get just shy of half a million dollars, and Clinton is slated to receive $339,000 for housing rehabilitation.

The governor also announced two Conservation Park Grants. One for Carmichael and Arrowhead Parks in Oliver Springs, the other for Marlow Park in Anderson County.
