LOUDON (AP) - A Loudon County man was found not guilty Wednesday in the killing of his retirement village neighbor.

The Loudon County jury found Norman Whitton, 71, not guilty of second-degree murder.

Whitton was accused of shooting Larry Butcher , 74, in April 2010.

Both men were Tellico Village residents.

Butcher was killed with a single shot to the chest from a .38 caliber revolver. In an interview with sheriff's investigators following his arrest, Whitton said Butcher was choking him and he shot his neighbor in self-defense.
