NEWPORT (WATE) - Police arrested a woman Wednesday night as the suspect in a Newport pharmacy robbery earlier in September.

A detective got a tip on Monday that Miranda Ellison, 27, of Commanche Drive in Newport, robbed Town and Country Drugs on Cosby Highway on September 14.

The robber threatened to blow up the pharmacy. She left after an employee gave her some pills.

The police department said the detective recovered evidence including a white pharmacy bag, a University of Tennessee ball cap, a gray shirt, camouflage pants and a pair of sunglasses.

Ellison is charged with aggravated robbery. Police said she's also charged in an unrelated case with theft of property under $500.

Ellison was booked into the Cocke County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
