RUTLEDGE (WATE) - A mother in Grainger County is now facing drug charges following the death of her son.
Grainger County Sheriff Scott Layel said Louvita Dalton, 33, faces multiple charges, including one count of TennCare fraud, one count of prescription fraud and two counts of failure to appear.
Dalton's son, 14-year-old Dustin Dalton, fell 40-feet from a cliff along Indian Ridge Road last Sunday. Officials believe his death resulted from a traumatic head injury, but an autopsy has been requested.
There are no indications that Dustin Dalton's death and Louvita Dalton's arrest are connected.
Dalton will appear for arraignment October 22.
