Family ups reward in Roane County man's murder case

KINGSTON (WATE) - The family of a Roane County murder victim has increased the amount of reward money being offered in the case.

Authorities are seeking information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the murder of Russel Charles Blevins, 85.

The reward is now up to $5,000. It was originally offered at $3,000 at the end of August.

Family members found Blevins shot multiple times in his home at 138 Hart Orchard Road in Kingston on Sunday, August 12.

Investigators believe firearms are missing from Blevins' home including an M-1 30 cal. Carbine Rifle. The serial number for the weapon is unknown.

The case is under investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Roane County Sheriff's Office and the 9th Judicial District Attorney General's office.
