Group finds welfare benefit card used at Knox County strip club

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A government watchdog group uncovered records of a welfare benefit card being used at a Knox County strip club.

The Beacon Center says one or more people used the card for three transactions at Th' Katch Show Club on Omni Lane. The transactions totaled $64.

The center obtained the records in a Freedom of Information Act request to the Department of Human Services.

Most of the purchases were made at grocery stores, but those records also include other transactions at Knoxville businesses that don't specialize in essential items, places like Discount Tobacco and Dillard's in West Town Mall.
