Arrest made in fatal shooting of Nashville 17-year-old

NASHVILLE (AP) - Police have a suspect in the fatal shooting of a Nashville teenager.

According to a police report, 20-year-old Jerome Stone was arrested Friday morning in the death of Demarcus Jordan-Ellis, 17.

Police tracked down the owner of a car that witnesses saw outside Jordan-Ellis' home around the time of the shooting Wednesday night.

The car owner, who has not been identified, told police that he and Stone had gone to the victim's home to purchase marijuana. During the transaction, he said Stone pulled a gun on Jordan-Ellis, at which time he ran outside.

He said he heard gunshots soon afterward. The man said Stone left the home, then re-entered and additional shots were fired.

He said Stone eventually ran to the car carrying a bag of marijuana.

Police did not say if the owner of the car has been charged.
