KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Halloween is still more than a month away, but that's not keeping people from cashing in on the holiday.
Several Halloween stores and attractions have already opened their doors for business.
For four years, the owners of Frightmare Manor, outside Jefferson City, have been attracting thousands of guests each year.
"We are extremely excited," said owner Chris Wooden. "There is a lot of buzz in the community. Everyone's talking about coming to see us."
They opened their doors Friday. Wooden said each year they have seen an increase of people coming to their attraction and they expect even bigger numbers this year.
Another business hoping to cash in on Halloween is Spirit Halloween. They have one store in the Marketplace shopping center in West Knoxville and a new location in a white tent in the West Town Mall parking lot.
"I think it's going to be a really good number because it's so close to the mall," said Spirit Halloween employee Terry Rogers. "Everyone has to come right over here."
Rogers said some of their most popular costumes for 2012 include characters from the movie Avengers and from this year's presidential election.
Whitney Cook, who drove all the way from Union County to Knoxville to start buying for Halloween, said she was glad everyone opened up well in advance of the holiday.
"I spend hundreds of dollars at Halloween," said Cook.
The manager at Spirit Halloween said they still have plenty of seasonal positions open for anyone interested in getting a job. To apply, just stop by either location.
