HARRIMAN (WATE) - A Tennessee university and a community college have teamed up to make graduating from college easier and less expensive for students.
Officials at Middle Tennessee State University and Roane State Community college entered into a dual admissions agreement on Wednesday.
"We welcome this opportunity to strengthen our already strong ties with Roane State," said MTSU President Dr. Sidney McPhee. "MTSU is the No. 1 destination of transfer students in Tennessee and this agreement makes it even easier for Roane State students to attend our university."
"Roane State is excited to sign these three agreements with MTSU. The agreements will provide greater opportunities for our students," said Roane State President Dr. Gary Goff. "We are proud to partner with Middle Tennessee State University."
The agreement gives students a guaranteed plan to progress from an associate's degree program at Roane State directly to a bachelor's degree program at MTSU.
The agreement allows students to have access to resources at both schools.
It also gives Roane State students the opportunity to take online classes and contact advisors at MTSU while paying the lower tuition that community colleges offer.
