KNOXVILLE (AP) - University of Tennessee Police cited a dozen people into court on underage consumption of alcohol after a fraternity member was brought to a hospital with alcohol poisoning.
Those cited included 11 members of the campus Pi Kappa Alpha chapter and one guest.
Meanwhile, Alexander P. Broughton, 20, of Memphis was said by his father to be back in classes on Tuesday.
Broughton registered .40 when his blood-alcohol level was checked early Saturday at UT Hospital. Campus police are investigating reports that the student had ingested alcohol rectally. Police said when they arrived at the fraternity house, they found several people passed out.
The fraternity's national organization has suspended the chapter for 30 days.
