Suspect in West Knox shooting that injured teen arrested

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The search is over for a suspect wanted in a shooting last week.

Ronnie Harshaw. 36, was captured Wednesday night by Knox County deputies after a traffic stop near Kingston Pike and Ebenezer Road.

Officers say Harshaw jumped out of the car and fled on foot, but was caught a short time later.

He was wanted in a shooting at Bakertown Apartments on September 18.

Witnesses say Harshw fired shots into an apartment with adults and children inside.

Kayla Thompson. 19. was hit by bullet fragments.

Harshaw is being held without bond for violation of probation. He has a criminal history of domestic assault and has served time in the state penitentiary for robbery and aggravated assault.
