Knoxville police looking for suspect in Western Heights shooting

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Knoxville police are looking for the man responsible for a Saturday night shooting.

The incident happened on W. Scott Avenue in the Western Heights neighborhood just before 9:00 p.m.

Police responded to a call of shots fired with one victim. They found the man near an apartment building with two gun shot wounds in his leg.

The victim is 35-year-old Gary Miller of Northwest Knoxville. He was taken to University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment.

Police said Miller was uncooperative during interviews and that they are continuing to conduct interviews and search for evidence in the case.

Police are asking any witnesses with information about the shooting to call 865-215-7000 and ask for the Knoxville Police Violent Crimes Unit.
