KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Knoxville's Volunteer Ministry Center is celebrating 25 years of serving the city's poor and homeless.
The organization is hosting a fundraiser Thursday night at the Crowne Plaza. Dinner will be served at 7:00 in the ballroom, followed by a speech by David Kaczynski.
Kaczynski is the executive director of New Yorkers for Alternatives to the Death Penalty, but is better known as the younger brother of the "Unabomber," Theodore Kaczynski.
Volunteer Ministry Center CEO Ginny Weatherstone says the title of David Kaczynski's talk is "Values, Responsibility and Community: A Personal Journey." She says he will raise questions of what it means to be a member of a community what how we should take a responsibility in it.
Tickets to the dinner and lecture are $50. Tickets to a pre-dinner reception with Kaczynski are also available for an additional $25.
Tickets can be purchased by calling (865) 524-3926 ext. 222.
