OAK RIDGE (WATE) - An Oak Ridge church will sell its property to developers building a new Kroger Marketplace.

Members of the Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church voted yes on Sunday to accept the offer.

The shopping center will be located at the intersection of the Oak Ridge Turnpike and Illinois Avenue.

A congregation spokesperson said the group is looking at several sites for a new church. They've been given 24 months to make the move.

In addition to the church, the developers have also acquired 55 homes, two hotels and a restaurant nearby for the 113,000 sq. ft. project.

The project still has to be approved by the board of zoning.
