KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Students at Karns Elementary School hope to set a world record Tuesday morning. They will gather in the school's gymnasium for what could be a record-breaking audience for a children's storybook reading.
First lady Crissy Haslam and WATE 6 News anchors will be on hand help in the reading world record attempt.
Organizers say the current record for the largest storybook audience is under 1000. Karns has more than 1,200 students and all are likely to be in the gymnasium during Tuesday's event.
WATE.com will provide live coverage of the event in streaming video beginning at 8 a.m.
