KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett and his estranged wife Allison are now legally divorced.
Allison Burchett sued for divorce in April, claiming inappropriate marital conduct on the mayor's part as well as irreconcilable differences.
In August, a freelance reporter for the Knoxville News Sentinel filed a complaint against Burchett questioning "the ethics and legalities" of Burchett's campaign finance reporting, including several checks Allison allegedly wrote to herself.
Details of their divorce settlement have not been released.
The Burchetts were married for four years.
