KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A fire started early Monday on the roof of a Knoxville business in the process of closing.

Firefighters were called shortly before 6:30 a.m. to RockTENN, 4512 Anderson Rd., where they found a small fire on the roof.

The building filled with smoke before the fire could be put out.

According to Knoxville Fire Department spokesman Capt. D.J. Corcoran, workers there had been on the roof Sunday removing a ventilation fan from the roof using a torch.

When firefighters arrived Monday morning they found flames on the roof near the rear of the building.

The fire was quickly put out. There were no injuries reported.

The business was also known as Smurfit Stone before it closed. It manufactured cardboard boxes.

The consumer packaging company announced in July it was closing, putting 13 salaried and 75 hourly employees out of work.
