COSBY (WATE) - Cocke County officials released new details in the investigation of two bodies found in a county home last week.

Deputies discovered the two dead Thursday at a home on Ball Hollow Road.

Investigators are still waiting on positive IDs of the bodies from dental records. They said the two appeared to have been dead for some time.

Officials with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said the remains appeared to be of a man and a woman.

The cause of death has been determined, but officials are not releasing the information yet.

"It is very important to complete all aspects of the investigation in order to protect the integrity of the case," said Cocke County Sheriff Armando Fontes. "Our investigators are in the process of looking into specific details for a final disposition in this case."

The sheriff also said he believes serious substance abuse is involved in the case.
