New smartphone app makes it easier to get around UT campus

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - If you're lost while searching for a building on the University of Tennessee's Knoxville campus directions can be as close as your phone.

UT has released a new smartphone app that is free to download.

The app for iPhones can be found in the iTunes app store. Android users can find it at the Google Play store. A BlackBerry version is available in the BlackBerry App World.

The app offers more than just directions. It includes a campus directory, course and athletics event schedules, and links to campus news.

With the app you can even search the catalogs of the UT Libraries and chat with a librarian.

UT's Office of Communication and Marketing and Office of Information Technology developed the app with technical services provided by Blackboard Mobile.
