KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The Knoxville Police Department is investigating a traffic collision that involves a vehicle and several pedestrians that were struck on Saturday morning.
Officers responded around 2:30 a.m. to W. New Street and Bell Street in the Austin Homes housing development.
Police said at least two people were hit by a vehicle at the location. Theron Johnson, 38, of Knoxville, and Jeannie Johnson, 39, of Knoxville, were transported to UT Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.
The vehicle was later located in the Green Hills apartment complex, and one of the female passengers was sent to UT Medical Center for minor injuries.
Officers identified the driver of the vehicle as Alice Barrett, 25, of Knoxville.
The investigation is ongoing, but preliminary statements indicate a large fight occurred in the street, then there were possible shots fired at the vehicle around the same time the pedestrians were struck by it.
