Police bust Caryville motel meth lab


CARYVILLE (WATE) - Officers busted a motel meth lab in Campbell County on Thursday night.

According to the Caryville Police Department, police responded to a call about a possible meth lab around 11 p.m. at the Super 8 Motel on the 200 block of John McGhee Boulevard.

David Rector, 40, of Caryville, answered the knocks of officers at the motel room, and police smelled noxious fumes in the area. They also saw components of a meth lab.

Rector was placed under custody for outstanding warrants from the sheriff's department, and he was transported to jail.

Officers then found Tonya Lawson, 38, of Caryville, and a meth lab beneath the mattress of the bed. She then was arrested.
