SWEETWATER (WATE) - A new Walmart is planned for Monroe County.
Walmart is planning to build a new store in Sweetwater. They estimate the store will create about 300 new jobs.
The groundbreaking will happen next week at the new site located near the intersection of Highway 11 and Highway 68. Some site work has already begun.
City planners said Monday they hope the new store will also attract other businesses to relocate to the area.
The store is expected to open in Summer 2013.
