KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The public nuisance law was used Wednesday to shut down a home police call a hub of criminal activity and illegal drug sales.

Knox County District Attorney Randall Nichols said the home in the 1400 block of Brookside Avenue has been a problem for almost 15 years.

According to a news release from the Knox County District Attorney's Office, officers from the Knoxville Police Department and Knox County Sheriff's Office responded to various calls at the home more than 65 times.

Citizen complaints and the fact that the home is within 1000 feet of Beaumont Elementary School were all factors that led to the injunction, the news release said.
