GREENBACK (WATE) - The man accused of hitting a Monroe County newspaper published has been charged in the accident.

Nicholas Steffa, 42, of Sweetwater, has been charged with DUI and vehicular assault. He was also cited for violating a seatbelt law.

This is Steffa's fourth DUI charge.

William "Dan" Hall, 31, who manages the Daily News Express in Madisonville, was on his way back from taking a friend and her daughter to Children's Hospital was driving southbound on Highway 411 in Loudon County.

That's when Steffa crossed the center line, striking Hall's car head on.

Both Hall and Steffa were critically injured in accident.
