KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Peyton Manning will be in Knoxville Friday to officially dedicate Peyton Manning Pass.

Manning will join Chancellor Jimmy Cheek and alumni to dedicate the road which was named for him 14 years ago.

The road was recently repainted to resemble Shields-Watkins field.

The dedication will take place Friday, Oct 19 at 4:30 p.m. on the road, which runs from Volunteer Blvd. to the front of Neyland Stadium at Phillip Fulmer Drive.

The custom asphalt stamping and painting project was made possible by the University of Tennessee's Senior Gift Campaign fund.

Although the funding had been in place for several years, the university delayed the project to accommodate stadium renovations and nearby roadwork.

Peyton Manning Pass is also the main route for the Vol Walk, a football Saturday tradition that brings fans to each side of the road as the football team walks to the stadium for home games.
