KNOXVILLE (WATE) - U.S. Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan spoke at the University of Tennessee Friday afternoon.
The event was sponsored by the College of Law at 1 p.m. at the Cox Memorial Auditorium in the Alumni Memorial Building.
Justice Kagan discussed the process for a case to reach the Supreme Court and how a decision is reached, along with advantages and difficulties of being a woman on the bench.
College of Law dean, Doug Blaze, also joined in on her conversation.
Justice Kagan is the newest member of the high court after being appointed by President Obama in 2010.
She is the third justice to visit the UT campus in the past 22 years.
