KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The Knoxville Police Department is investigating a stabbing that occurred on Friday night at an extended stay facility.
An unknown suspect stabbed the victim at approximately 10:38 p.m. at InTown Suites, located on the 100 block of S. Gallaher View Road.
Police say the victim, Wesley Stanley, 40, was taken to the UT Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
He has since been treated and released from the hospital.
Police are still searching for the suspect.
The suspect was described as a male wearing a dark sweatshirt.
Officers stopped a man wearing a dark sweatshirt in the parking lot but discovered he was not the suspect. He was, however, arrested for transporting marijuana for resale.
