NASHVILLE (AP) - Police say a man charged in the fatal shooting of a homeless man could be connected to at least two other attacks on homeless people in downtown Nashville.
WKRN-TV reports 29-year-old Christopher Crowley is being held in the Nashville Jail on one count of criminal homicide for the murder of 41-year-old Robert Mitchell, who was found shot in the head on a downtown park bench last Thursday.
Detectives are now looking into whether Crowley was involved in the 2009 murder of 46-year-old Edward Matthews, and the shooting of 60-year-old Albanus Kitaka the same year. Police said Kitaka was shot in the mouth while sleeping outside a building and has since recovered.
Crowley's bond is set at $250,000 for Mitchell's murder, and he's reportedly on suicide watch.
