KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The University of Tennessee is planting flowers to raise awareness about Alzheimer's disease.

Orange and purple pansies now adorn the Lake Loudon entrance by Phillip Fulmer Way, as well as in front of Neyland Stadium and other spots across campus. The plantings are part of the Alzheimer's Pansy Project.

UT is teaming up with Stanley's Greenhouse which is selling pansies and donating the proceeds to the Pat Summitt Foundation.

The flowers are on sale through the month of November.

The university is planning more plantings and encouraging others to get in on the act. The City of Knoxville is also taking part in the Pansy Project.

Pat Summitt went public with her Alzheimer's diagnosis last year.
