DANDRIDGE (WATE) - An investigation into the accidental electrocution of two boys at a Cherokee Lake marina has been officially closed. No criminal charges will be filed.
Noah Winstead, 10, and Nate Lynam, 11, were hit by electrical current on July 4 as they jumped into the water at the German Creek Dock near Bean Station.
The accident also injured eight other people who tried to rescue the boys.
Fourth Judicial District Attorney James Dunn said Monday an investigation by the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency and the State Fire Marshal's Office found no cause to file criminal charges.
State fire officials ordered the marina to fix a number of code violations.
